For the most part, my design work at Flatiron was limited to converting old Gibson and Flatiron inlay designs to modern CNC cut programs.
In 1996, I did the design and fixture work for a new line of Gibson Ukulele s: Soprano, Concert, Tenor and Baritone. There were only a few prototype instruments of these Ukulele models built before the plant was closed and moved to Nashville. The peghead, which used the vintage Gibson crown inlay, was my first peghead design.
After the Flatiron plant was closed, I was transferred to the Gibson Acoustic Guitar division in Bozeman where I worked with Ren Ferguson designing production fixtures and troubleshooting production problems.
